I made my first batch of laundry soap, last night. I used the hot process method and have decided that, after a little market testing, I will be selling it. It's a basic recipe with tea tree oil added for fragrance and its disinfecting properties. I washed a load of laundry earlier, using only the soap, and it seemed to have worked well. I think it will work really well with the recipes that many people are using these days to avoid harsh chemicals found in commercial detergents. While not ideal for bathing, this soap is not harmful.
Edited to add:
This laundry soap did not do as well as expected. Sadly, after a tumble through the dryer, my laundry smelled like bacon instead of tea tree oil. Lesson learned.
